Winding Down

As the days dwindle, I ponder many a thoughts as to my true heart motives of traveling and working in West Africa. At times I wish I were already there - while at others, the "what if's" consume my mind. "What if this doesn't work out?" "What if my body can't take the enviroment?" "What if the language is too much for me?" "What if....what if.....what if........?"
I know that this is what I'm called to do. I'm secure in myself and who God created me to be - but it's a whole different world over there; one I've never experienced before; one I know next to nothing about; one that keeps tugging on my heart - and though at times I'm hesitant to go - I know I won't return the same person I am today.

wow Ty, that's quite poetic! It must be the thing to do; getting poetic about God stuff. He's so amazing, deep and captivating, the things he does in our lives are so profound that even when all we're doing is trying to write it out to get a better handle on what's going on around us it appears that we have spent hours pondering the perfect words to use to convey the meaning of the piece. I love using words. (mostly on paper/computer) there are just so many, and simply chosing one out of your sketchily composed vocabulary and blending them together with masterful syntax, for me, learned from watching a vast array of videos and regurgitating with my family the parts we found enjoyable can be a most enjoyable passtime. Then you mix and create words that don't really exist but they sound like they do and people automatically know what you're talking about... For me, writing isn't just a way to say hi to some one and get to know them, it's like a super-game; a way to invent and have a blast doing so, and being able to share the joy with others. Stuff like this^ is what I'm talkin about!!!! Wah-hoo!!
